Hello there.

I am using my old laptop with Atheros AR9485WB-EG Wireless Network Adapter for watching movies online. Anyway, my network is bad. My internet provider says everything's okay, I switched 3 adapters already, and nothing is helping, I heard of this thing called NIC, which is basiclly a limit Windows sets of how much Mbit you can use. I got it a little mixed up, and all tutorials say that i have to click "Link Speed/Duplex Mode". I go to the drivers, choose the one i use, click properties, configure, then advanced, and it is not there

Am i doing something wrong? Or am I an idiot?

Thank you :D

The "Link Speed" and "Duplex" mode things generally refer to wired Ethernet connections and do not apply to WiFi.

When WiFi fails to work adequately, the first thing to check is to connect directly to the router or modem with a wired Ethernet connection to check achievable speeds without the WiFi bottleneck. If you get good speeds while wired to the modem or router, it means your WiFi network has issues. Could be a bad/failing WiFi router, a bad/failing WiFi adapter, something in-between causing excessive signal attenuation or interference sources.
