[SOLVED] I changed PSU and now PC boots to BIOS

Changed PSU but now it just boots to BIOS and in there it says no SATA connections, 0 drive and no bootable devices.
I have checked the connections and look ok
Is the motherboard fried?

I am new to all of this and bought the computer off a friend that has moved away but he built it. Asus motherboard, GTX 1050 and AMD processor is all that I can tell you.

If the motherboard is dead could I keep all the parts, RAM, CPU and graphics card and go from there??

I would check the sata and hd power cables for secure fitting. Pull them and reseat . See if that helps.

Another thought, did you use the new psu cables or did you swap out just the psu?

(expanding on above: reusing old modular cables with a new PSU when most of the time the cables have a different pinout at the PSU insertion points is often a quite quick 'puff of smoke' disaster for most SATA drives...
