So I just bought a new SSD from Silicon Power. My current hard drive is at 5400 RPM, so it was super slow. I used EaseUS Todo Backup in order to clone all of my windows and games from my hard drive to my SSD.
However, when I tried to boot from my SSD, Windows didn't start. Therefore, I went into the BIOS and made sure that the SSD was set as my boot drive, and it was. I then plugged my hard drive back in and it wouldn't load either. However, after resetting it to my first boot device instead of second, it worked.
Does anybody know why my SSD isn't booting up Windows when I set it up as my primary boot device? The SSD is an exact copy of the hard drive, so there is no way that there is something wrong with the files. Is there some kind of block that Windows has to prevent people from cloning it onto a new drive?
And although I marked this as a laptop problem, I have a desktop. There is simply no option to select for a desktop computer.
Update: I tried over 6 different programs to clone my HD, and none were successful. Anybody have any other suggestions????
