i connected a new hdtv to pc but image is streched

i have windows 10,before my toshiba 22 16:9 hdtv i had an old 4:3 crt.i set the image to 16:9 from tv settings and its streched.only full setting displey correctly but i know somethings wromg because my games have black bars(not all of them).i have gtx 970 connected via hdmi

did you change the resolution? don't set the format, just set your resolution.
