I don't even know what to call this problem. But I need to get rid of it.

if you think it a virus or malware from another pc use a usb stick and download malware bytes and hitman pro. also check your anti virus on that pc if it old or expired. uninstall it and download one of the free anti virus...avast...avg..bitdefender. also use there free online scan to see if your pc is infected.

No it is not infected by any malware, I am running Malware Bytes PREMIUM on my PC. I'm very certain that there is no malware on this computer. Any other possible solution? And I pretty much have 4 days to get rid of this problem, and send the document. If I don't manage to get rid of it, install the program, then send the document, I will lose my job.

try this boot the pc in safe mode with network support see if the file will download. if it does and the pc working right bring up msconfig and look what loading in the start tab. turn off everything but your anti virus. also look to see if there other anti malware loading or anti virus programs that might be fake or any toolbar helpers. look into ad remove programs for any unknown programs that been loaded in the last few days. also try uninstalling adobe products and downloading the new adober reader dc from adobe. if the error still there see if adobe make a adobe reader remover to see if there a damaged registry file.

I ran it in safe mode, and the file didn't open. I removed all bootup programs in msconfig, and only kept my anti-virus on. I went out of safe mode, then it wouldn't open. But I think this has something to do with .NET Framework file corruption. I installed CCleaner and I removed all .NET Framework DLL's and I am reinstalling it. If that fixes it I will let you know.

This has been going on for quite a while, so I can't system restore. Also, I delete my restore points quite often to free up some space for my C drive. I don't like to go below 200 GB disk space on my C. But on my D I have 900 GB free.

if you download any pdf you get that white box issue??? is the work file a pdf or is it a word or word perfect file???
if it a word doc you have to open it or change it to a pdf onile. or with a paid word to pdf program. also is the work file locked and password protected??? if it not the pds reader that bad try another browser to see if it the broswer or downloader. also make sure your ethernet drivers are up to date and check your memory to see if you have a bad stick of ram. (memtest from a boot disk). also see if you can download or open a pdf from a back statement or online billing to see if it you or your work issue in sending bad files.

It is a PDF, I need to check it out in Adobe Reader, because it's protected by a password, but seems like I can't do that.

I can't reinstall because my friend broke my CD. And I need the job to buy myself a decent gaming laptop. I am still not THAT old. I'm only 19.

The issue has been fixed, I downloaded KVRT(kaspersky virus removal tool) because I've heard that kaspersky is a very good av program. I didn't want to buy another av so I just downloaded the virus removal tool. And it was a trojan that malwarebytes detected but couldn't delete, but the good thing is that now it's fixed.
