Just stay with HDMI until you can obtain another usb-c to dp cable and thoroughly test the existing cables on another system.

The cable may be faulty and what would make things worse is if the fault was intermittent - meaning the problem starts to appear and disappear.

If the cable(s) proves okay then more troubleshooting can be done thereafter.

Plus, in the meantime there may be other ideas and suggestions posted here.

What USB-c port is being used for video output?

This monitor - correct?

Double check the monitor's User Guide/Manual and menus to ensure that the correct monitor input (DP) is selected.

If you go back to using the HDMI cable does the display header re-appear?

Do you have another usb c to DP cable to test or are you able to test the cable you have on another known working system?
