I don't have a "Smoke Machine" but I was wondering if I could use something else? I mean, there must be something around that I can use.

could go to the store and pick up dry ice and put it in water. That will produce a fog. Depending how much you use the fog can get thick but is Carbon dioxide and is toxic to breath so make sure you have good ventilation. Also fog will only hover low to the ground (minimizing toxicity because its hard to inhale that low to the ground)

I was just asking because I wasn't sure what you wanted it for? Some people use smoke for airflow testing and if that were the case you can use incense because the smoke is very visible.
