I don't have enough pcie slots!

I bought a gtx 980 ti and I got it but it won't work bc I only have the 8 pin pcie slot and I need 16. Is there any pin extender I can get bc I can't afford another power supply

Your statement has a few things mixed up.
1. Do you have a pci-e x16 slot on your motherboard? It doesn't matter if it's electrically x8. It just needs to be x16 size.

2. Does your PSU have the proper power connectors? I think you need a 6pin and a 8pin? What connectors do you have?

Lacking the proper connectors is usually a good sign the PSU was not designed to deliver enough power to that kind of card. Whats the make and model of the PSU?
