So, I have a

Prime B250M-A motherboard,
i5-7500 cpu,
gtx 1070, and
24 gigs of DDR4 ram
1 TB HD
250 gb SSD.

The cpu bottlenecks my games to the point where I don't even hit 15% gpu usage while my cpu is at 100% (I've had the cpu a while it's kinda old.) It makes most games linger at the 50-60 fps mark which is unplayable (to me) as I prefer fast paced fps and know what my gpu can do. I have looked at different cpu upgrades and all seem to be dead end upgrades since the motherboard doesn't support AMD or >7th gen intel processors. I don't really know what to do, so I'm here lul. If anyone has any suggestions for motherboard/cpu combos for manageable prices, or advice on how to configure my pc for better performance, etc etc, I'm all ears! Thanks in advance.

I already have this ram:

CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200)

will the motherboard/cpu work with it?

They will work but the issue here is the speed. That's Intel RAM speed. With a Ryzen system Zen 2 like the 3600, 3700 you should be using 3200/3600MHz RAM :) The difference between 2400MHz and 3600MHz on a Ryzen system is quit big.

I see. The ram is a bit out of budget for me as I literally just upgraded to 24 from 8 less than 3 months ago, but I will look into the motherboard and cpu, thanks!
