I dont know if my CPU is ok with next-gen gaming

My gear :
- GPU : Asus GTX 770
- CPU : Intel Core i7 860 @2.80 Ghz
- RAM : 8Gb

The next-gen is coming and I want to be ready !
When I play games like Guild Wars 2, Space Engineers (space version of minecraft with good graphics) or Battefield 4, I cannot reach max settings.

What is reducing my performance, my CPU or my GPU ?

(I know the GPU has generally a bigger impact but these game (listed above) seem to have high CPU usage)

try to run some monitoring software that logs in the background to see if your gpu or cpu is being highly maxed out as opposed to the other not. This can help determine a bottleneck point.
