And now I can't format my laptop without the BIOS password which I have no clue
My windows is corrupted
What to do now??

Solution
BIOS has nothing to do with the formatting process of reinstalling Windows. If you have a Windows DVD and a legible Certificate of Authenticity on the base of the laptop showing the Product Key, that's all you need.

Just put the disk in and press whichever key you need to boot from the optical disk and Windows will format the old system out of existence. It should also offer you some repair options which will save you losing all your personal files and any installed programmes you put in.

Hi

If BIOS password is stopping you selecting DVD or USB as boot device then take laptop to a ASUS dealer with proof of ownership & identity and get them to clear the password for you.

In most laptops resetting cmos does not clear bios password.

We are not allowed to advise on clearing any sort of passwords

You're quite right of course, mbarnes86 and that's why I didn't refer to that issue at all. Toshiba had a nasty habit of selling laptop with password protected BIOS and it caused a lot of problems in the UK so I don't go in too hard on that where it isn't 100% necessary.

You may use some discretion where BIOS passwords are concerned because they don't usually prevent access to the OS.
