I just finished building my rig and I was about to turn pc on.

I connected monitor VGA cable to DVI-D port (graphics card) using an adapter and I was getting "No cable signal Analog" on the screen.

Then I removed GPU and adapter and connected monitor using VGA cable to motherboard (got integrated graphics). I wanted to make sure it wasnt an adapter issue. Then I tried booting it up and this time only monitor power button was blinking.

I then removed ram and re installed it, same. Then I removed one stick and kept the other, same.

I believe all components are nicely connected, all cables are on point and well fit in1

I really don't know what to do anymore.. Please, help anyone?

if you can try and use a different monitor because if you can access teh bios then it might make things easier. if the pc turns on like it should then thats great but if you can try a different and known power supply, it may be faulty and the not booting issue could be a lack of power to the components. the specs of your system would be nice to know just for future reference. 😉

I have checked everything. I don't think I have made a mistake.

I also got an 1050. I was thinking I should get an active adapter (which is very expensive but.. Ok) but then I tried using integrated graphics by connecting monitor to motherboard and same thing.

Asrock B450 Pro4
NVIDIA GTX 1050 2gb
AMD 5 Ryzen 2600

Case fans, cpu fans etc work when I turn PC on but monitor shows that there is no cable signal.

If the case is the adapter (should use an active rather than a passive) then why when I connect monitor to motherboard directly (VGA) monitor still shows nothing? (when i connect it to monitor it just says digital/Analog at first then black screen and power button blinks.

That's the port you'd use if you were using a 2200G or 2400G. Only the G APUs have onboard video. The 1600, 1800, 2600, etc don't. So that's why it doesn't work.

Edit: Again, and active adapter and the 1050 will work fine. There is no analog signal in the 1050 for the passive adapter to pass on.

If I said I feel silly what would you guys say? Lol..

Anyway. So if I buy an active adapter will everything be fixed? Because someone above said 1050 doesn't support VGA or DVI adapters. I found earlier a VGA to DVI-D active adapter. I don't want to spend a lot for nothing, so I am making sure.

They don't support VGA to DVI-D adapters. There is no VGA port. You need an active DVI-D to VGA adapter. Those will work.

You might also want to consider upgrading your monitor. You won't have to worry about adapters at all. And your eyes will thank you. Just a thought.

Hey everyone.

My specs:
- AMD 5 Ryzen 2600
- NVIDIA GTX 1050 2gb
- AsRock B450 Pro4.

So, I finished building my PC today and I was about to boot it.

First attempted failed. I realised my monitor had only a VGA cable while 1050 has only HDMI and DVI-D.

I bought a passive DVI-D to VGA adapter, same thing. "Check Signal Cable" box on the screen and below it "Analog".

I then tried to remove one stick of ram, check if everything is in place, re-apply gpu. Same thing.

Then I bought a DVI-D cable as some suggested me. Plugged it nicely to both monitor and graphics card. Same thing. Check Signal Cable error.

I have spent whole day trying to figure out what's wrong and I seriously have no idea. When I turn PC on CPU fan and chassis fan are working normally.

I really ask for help at this point. I don't know what's wrong and I have spent a lot for cables and stuff already. I am seriously tired at this point.

Please, anyone?
