I am selling my dad my xfx 975 clock 7850 to my dad for $150, I am also selling my gtx 460 2win to a person for $150-$170.

First off let me tell you my Pc specs.

FX-8350
Seasonic Gold X850 V3
Rest doesn't matter.
Oh and I game on a 1600x900 monitor, I will not change this don't ask questions

Currently with the 7850 overclocked I seem to get 60+ fps on max settings with the games i play.

Mostly rpgs some shooters tomb raider, hitman etc.

I would like to spend Under $400 Really more like $300 On a video card for this rig.

Is a ATI 7950 the way to go for around $300, Or with my res Am I better Of will a Good "XT or LE" 7870.

I prefer quiet cards like the 78xx ones better then Nvidias current offering in my mind.

The Radeon 7950 is a better options for overclocking. If you don't overclock, then I recommend the 7870 LE/XT cards instead because they have fairly close stock performance, but usually much lower prices. The 7950's main advantage is that it overclocks a lot better.

There are some new 7870 LE/XT cards in stock. For example, Powercolor has a new 7870 LE/XT card going for $210 or so and it's better than their Myst Edition version that had a crappy cooler.

However, it's worth saying that you'll have to use some pretty heavy levels of AA and such to make good use out of this much performance on a 1600x900 display.

My bad, I missed that

Yeah, a dual 460 wouldn't be too far off for the 7870 LE/XT cards. It still wouldn't win AFAIK, but it'd be decently close, right around the 7870 GHz edition on average.

gtx 460 2win performs at the same level as a gtx 580

I figured you missed that no worries.

We have a business account with newegg. paid 119$ for the 7850 2gb 975 clock and 221 for the gtx 460 2win brand new. My dad is using a gtx 465, I told him that I would give him one of these cards for the price. I would imagine im better off giving him the 7850? and keeping the gtx 460 2win?

That's because it's not a GTX 460, but two GTX 460s on a single card. It's a GTX 460X2.

Performance-wise, the 460 2WIN should beat the 7850 somewhat, so yes, you should be better off keeping it and giving the 7850 unless you want to upgrade beyond it. As for me, I'd rather keep the 7850 and OC the hell out of it, but most people don't do that as much ;)
