The Linux debate, or the political "war" debate going on here. What happened
to the UT discussion, guys? There are *so* many new ut2004 new mods, maps,
vehicles, and models coming out that it's almost impossible to keep up, and
the regulars here *just* want to pound thier pulpits.

I've stopped even bothering to open up threads anymore, because everyone has
an "Agenda".

Maybe that's part of the reason why there are millions of UT users out
there, but only a handful of posters here anymore?

Last I checked, this wasn't a Linux Vs. XXXXXXX group, and it wasn't a "I
Hate Bush I hate the middle east situation" group.

The group is what you make of it, and you guys are doing a great job of
killing it off.

So should we run every post by you first for consideration and
approval, or will you just be painting the rules with a broad brush?
This is a group that happens to have a common interest, not a
structured conversation on a single subject. I know it's probably hard
for anal-retentives to really grasp, but people will talk about many
things when they get going and it's quite hard to stay on one subject.
If you don't like it, then leave. Perhaps your dollys could be better
playmates? You can control them, I'll bet.

No, it's because 98% of those millions of UT users don't even know
that Usenet exists. The few that do hang out here couldn't be blown
out of here with dynamite, so don't expect the group to die anytime
soon.

Eh, they are just two threads. Just killfile the threads (I did that
with the war thread) and get on with it.

Well, then come with an interesting UT-related discussion subject
yourself. Make the group interesting for UTers again, instead of
whining. The group is what you make of it.

And I have.. but people are more interested in arguing about their agendas.

If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem...

And should this thread now be renamed to "Who can spit out another
feel-good quotation/cliche?"

It is a Linux discussion held in a Linux related thread.

Why did you need to start a new thread when you could have made this
point in the relevent thread?

Shouldn't that debate be in a Linux NG?

Because this addresses two different threads, and a current trend.

And this is your weak reply for the virtual spam you've been subjecting
everyone here to for the last few weeks? I read that you had some personal
problems, and I'm sorry that you have had those, but look how few UT posts
there are left here?

So your reply/justification is a personal painting of me as a dictator?

I said nothing at all about me or anyone else policing the group.. I asked
that people at least try to present SOME ut topical content.. is that so
hard for you to understand in a UT newsgroup?

And yes, using my poser 3d character creations, I can make them do just
about anything I like.

Then killfile the offending threads. It's as simple as that.

Right, for example, the iraq war...
