Question I don't think my graphics card is doing everything it can

Specs:
Graphics card: gtx 1060 3gb
CPU: Intel i5-8400
Ram: 2x 4gb ddr4 2400mhz

I attempted to play Apex Legends and I got 100 frames consistently but I had all my settings as low as possible except resolution which was at 1080p. I feel like I should be getting at least 144 fps at lowest on Apex with these specs. Same with Fortnite I have most of settings at lowest and I normally get 200 fps but out of no where it would just dip to 100.

Rainbow 6 Siege is pretty bad too. At lowest settings I only get about 120fps

Do you know what could be causing my graphics card to do this and how to fix it?

It could be a RAM bottleneck. Only 8gb will hold you back. Try raising your graphics settings and if the framerates are more or less the same, there's your answer.
I doubt the i5 8400 or the GTX 1060 3gb especially on low settings are your bottleneck. I would try to upgrade to at least 12gb if not 16gb of RAM.
