I don't understand please help

Hi, i recently bought a laptop.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz (4 CPUs), 8 GB of ram and 2.6 GHZ.

When i bought the laptop it said 2.6-3.2, does that mean I can over-clock it ? Because i don't want to ruin my laptop by over-clocking it if it can't handle it.

An urgent answer would be amazing all i need to know is if it is okay or safe to over-clock to 3.2!

Probably wont be able to Overclock it, most manufactured PC's prevent all overclocking for warranty and such, it just means under load the CPU will speed up to 3.2Ghz

you can download CPU-z and see watch the clock speed as you do stuff, it will probably go to 3.2 when you need it

Hi. First, you can't and don't want to OC in a Laptop. The second thing is what you see 2.6 Ghz - 3.2 Ghz is the speed range of the processor. Normally it will run at 2.6 Ghz, but if need be, then Turbo will kick in and take it to 3.2 Ghz.
