Question I don't understand why my video performance is less than stellar sometimes

HI all, this is my very first real post here, so please bear with me... Looks like I can't upload screen shots so will type everything up...

I am befuddled as to why my PC's video performance is hit-or-miss sometimes. I thought I had a decent graphics card and enough memory to handle my needs, but lately I am having playback issues, etc. I only recently went from Windows 7 Pro to 10, not sure if this matters. I wonder if I changed a setting somewhere and now performance is suffering. The videos in question are usually off-line ones, clips etc I use for editing together projects, etc.

ALSO, I keep disabling my motherboard's graphics so my add-on card takes over, but it keeps reactivating itself!

  1. What happens when a PC has two active GPU's running?
  2. Isn't my graphics card higher performing than the motherboard graphics?
  3. Doesn't my amount of memory effect video playback? Don't I have more than enough?

I'm hoping maybe folks here who understand things like "clocks", etc may see something in my build/settings that could be causing my troubles. I never really had any issues until recently, so I hope I didn't goof up a setting, or it is Windows 10 related... Let me know if you need to see any other info:
