Ugh. Just got an i5 4690k processor from Intel. While taking out the cardboard the clamshell case fell on the ground from around 2.5 feet. Upon impact it opened up and the processor fell heatspreader-down on the ground. I can't see any physical damage myself. I'm not too sure if it hit the resisstors on the back but I'm praying it will post when I get my mobo tomorrow. Anyways, tell me what you think and what other precautions would be good to take.
