I dropped my external HDD

Hello,
so i accidentaly dropped my samsung m3 portable 1TB. It was from about 40cm.
It got hited from there -

Now when i connect it to my laptop, it doesnt appear in my computer or disk manager. Only in device manager. I downloaded sea gate tools to test it, program didint found it either.

Also, if i have it connected when windows is booting up, it would stop. Before that it didint happened.

i think u broke it and the disk-part of it isn't spinning but the Case is working that's why u can see it in device manger

That seems bad - the beeping can be because of many reasons - it may be because of the heads getting stuck on the platter. If that's the case, this tutorial should help you if that's the case. Is the data you have stored on there critical?

From your description and the sound - I would say that your hard drive is a paper weight now....the only way to get any data from it would be going to a data recovery shop and paying quite a bit of money for them to disassemble the drive and rebuild it in a clean room....

External drives are great for sharing info - but not so great for important data. Always keep a second copy of all data (a backup).

the data isint that critical, all i want to do so the hdd would work again :/

Then I would suggest following the aforementioned tutorial as it has a reasonable success rate and doesn't involve shelling out for expensive data recovery.
