I finished my first build a couple days ago, but I can't get an output to my monitor
Whenever I attempt a boot, every light and fan turns on, the CPU led flashes and off once, then the VGA on and off, then the boot led turns on and stays on
I've tested the monitor with two different HDMI cables, they all work fine
I've taken apart and rebuilt the thing twice, there's no visible damage to any hardware and everything should be in place
There's a few forums with similar problems, none of which reach an answer

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (new, refurbished, used)?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

Make and model monitor? Does the monitor work with other computers?

Other attached peripherals?

So if you are using a rx580 plug-in gpu have you tried the onboard video instead?

First builds are fun.

Have you downloaded the motherboard manual from MSI. It’s a good instruction for building.

Check to see only the needed stand offs are fitted in the case. There is a drawing in the manual that shows which you need.

Check to see that all the necessary power connectors are made, the long ATX power connector and the smaller CPU power connector, it’s near the backplate stuff on the top edge of the board.

This assumes a decent PSU in the range of 500 to 600W (for this build more is unnecessary)and a good brand name.

So following on from there. The motherboard has 4 led lights on the right hand edge, furthest from the back panel connector. They are for easy debugging. See page 37 of the manual linked above.

What do they show?
