Question I forgot my password to log into my account. Would this method work?

forgot my password to login because the last time I logged into my old PC was 7 years ago. I never created a backup disk/CD either. I saw this video on YouTube and a lot of people were thanking him in the comment section but a few were also having trouble and were getting errors including one who claimed that his admin account was disabled.
If I follow the step exactly the way he gives them I shouldn't really run into serious errors right?
