Exclude "Rayman Legends.exe" file to the DEP protection. DEP refers to Data Execution Protection. You're encountering an error because the file is blocked from execution.

1. Right click My Computer desktop icon.
2. Select Properties.
3. Click "Advanced system settings" on the left hand panel.
4. A new dialog will open. Click Advanced tab | Settings (Performance) | Data Execution Prevention.
5. Select the second option named "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select".
6. Click Add button, locate the following file:
C:\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Rayman Legends\Rayman Legends.exe
7. Click OK twice and close the window.

Another important thing is the system settings. You'll start full scan with this utility and fix all errors detected. When you're finished repairing, please restart your computer.

i tried another download of rayman legends,re-installed many times but still i get error message when i try to start rayman legends. The application failed to initialize (0xc0000142). Click on OK to term

this error pops only when i start rayman legends no other application in my pc has this problem.

first from kickasstorrents and second from uplay store both of them are encountering same problem

The first is an illicit copy and is most likely the cause of your problem. Check your PM's.

Open a command session as administrator and run: sfc /scannow

i cant run sfc /scannow because i just found out that my dvd rom is not working

However I read readme file of rayman legends and found this

KNOWN ISSUES
"* The game needs properly installed sound and video drivers or it will fail to initialize. Please make sure you have the latest drivers from you're sound card and video card manufacturers installed before you start the game."

HOW DO I DO THAT?
