If you read my other topic disregard it, I somehow got it back to normal by switching some things to auto then back to manual and removing some programs.

This is my first time overclocking so nooby questions:

I want to overclock my CPU and Ram, Cpu is a AMD Phenom II 955 Negro, and Ram is G.Skill Ripjaws 1600 7-8-7-24

Ram first because It seems easier, what could possibly speed it up? Should I lower timings to 7-7-7 or 6-7-6 because I can't raise the MHZ anymore. then should I change voltage?

Anybody have a good benchmark program I could download? I can't find any free ones..

Solution
You can probably do a mild OC on the CPU and Ram without changing any voltages or timings. If you are using the stock cooler I wouldnt recommend
OCing the CPU.

benchmarks
http://downloads.guru3d.com/Benchmarks-&-Demo%27s_c6.html
http://downloads.guru3d.com/Generic-Benchmarks_c7.html

Stability test
Prime95(32bit, 64bit)
http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=103

Under 100% load (using Prime95) your max temp should not exceed 62c that is the max safe temp for your CPU.

Temp/voltage monitoring
HWmonitor

Hope this helps, and yes you can overclock your video card. [:bohleyk:1]

Feel dumb, Just read the stickied notes.. Got it all now.

One question tho, my Graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce 460 preclocked by the company, Gigabyte with 1gb memory. If it's preclocked am I able to overclock it?

Alright, I went to 20x multiplier and I crashed so I went down to 19.5, I'm supposedly .6Ghz higher, and mark06 got me an3x better rating but it sorta feels slower, I did change my ram command rate to 2Tb from 1TB, should I change it back?
