i get sudden breaks in my internet connection

i just built a new computer and it wont stop with these sudden lag spikes... iand its not just lag spikes because my graphics card its like internet lag spikes... like if im playing a game my internet can just randomly stop working for 3 seconds and then its back again like nothing happened and its the same thing when im at a friend or at my mom so the problem isnt just a bad router or somthing like that... im thinking it might either be how i built my pc or it might also be because my motherboard is broken in some way... i dont know it might also just be some random setting so yah thats what i am wondering. what do you think the problem is? and how do i solve it??

Are you sure it's the internet that stops working or do you just get lag? Is it only in games you see this pause? You posted in the wireless section, what WiFi adapter are you using? What are the full system specs and what game are you talking about?

im 99% sure its not just my internet since my brother doesnt get these lag spikes on hes pc and its not just the game that pauses and i know that because i can still move but noone else is and i get popped back into the position i just was in. i usually use wifi but i have tried with cable too and it didnt really help. and im just using the wifi adapter that came with my motherboard which is a gigabyte z97x gaming 5 mini itx version with a 1150 processor socket. i also have 16gb of ram a gigabyte gtx970, and a intel core i5 4690k.

Check for newer drivers for the network card, if you have not done it yet reboot the modem and router.

i did but they are up to date. i now noticed that my packet loss procentage is most of the time at 0% but when i get the lag spikes it goes up to 100%
