I recently purchased a r9 270x and installed it myself in computer. At first it worked fine and I was able to install drivers and all that I needed to for the card. But once I restarted the computer, it would boot up but after it said that windows is loading, it would just go black. Sometimes the tray items would flicker but that is all I could see.

Please help. I don't know what the problem is.

That's a Seasonic-built PSU, so should be good.
I'd remove the card, go back to your old one, then remove ALL video card drivers (including the new one). Download the latest WHQL drivers from AMD and then re-install the new card.

Your power supply might not be able to handle the GPU properly.

I had similar issues on a PC recently, it booted up just fine but as soon as i hit windows it black screened and froze.

But yes there might always be something wrong with the card as well.

1. I bought my card from a store

2. I did remove my last graphics card's drivers

3. My computer specs:
Motherboard: Gigabyte P55-UD3R
CPU: i7 860 @ 3.2ghz
Power supply: Antec NeoPower 550W
RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 16gb

That's a Seasonic-built PSU, so should be good.
I'd remove the card, go back to your old one, then remove ALL video card drivers (including the new one). Download the latest WHQL drivers from AMD and then re-install the new card.

Ok I fixed it. I tried doing what you said Onus but it didn't work but I did find out it was the driver not any of the hardware. Apparently the R9 series have their own line of drivers and normal drivers have a tendency to black screen sometimes. So I booted my computer in safe mode and installed those drivers and it worked!
Anyway, thanks for the help guys
