I got a quote on i7 Processor

Quote reads 'INTEL CORE i7 4770k-3.5GHZ QUADCORE8' is this processor part of the Haswell range? ( Hope this is not a stupid question) Would this be a good processor to go for?

yes. 4770K is a haswell cpu. all 4xxx series are haswell.

edit: paired with a Z87 board it's one of the best combos possible.
apart from i7 49xx series cpu-s which are essentially server xeon cpu-s brought down on the consumer space this is probably the best cpu available right now.
