So as the title suggests while I was removing my cpu from its socket as I am replacing my cpu cooler I accidentally smeared a very tiny amount of thermal paste on the bottom of my cpu. It's only the outer ring of the cpu pins.

Do I need to buy Isopropyl alcohol and clean it off or is there another way? Also if I do have to clean it off with iso how long does it have to dry off?

Thanks

You can just wipe it off for the most part. Just use something lint-free.

Isopropyl alcohol (90%+) dries in a minute or two, and you should have some on hand when servicing a PC.
Alright thanks, what would you suggest I use to wipe it off with the alcohol then? Is a paper towel fine?
