I sold my working motherboard which was installed in my pc. When i upgraded my pc with new ddr3 board i sold the old one to a buyer from olx just a day after i replaced it with new one. And the next day itself surprisingly the buyer said that the board is totally dead and said that he verified it from a pc repairer near to his house. But i think he is lying because the motherboard was working perfectly before i took it out from my pc. One more thing that i would like to mention is that I know how to work with motherboards very well since last 15 years. So now if i have to repay him then i will be in a serious loss though i know it wasen't my fault.
So, my question is whether i should repay him or not.

Well guess its really up to you then but if you deal on an online site it may affect your rating. With police you have no worry but he could take you to small claims court. I guess its up to you depending on if it returns the board. If it doesn't then its his problem.

If its pay pal you may have no choice. Have him return the produce and check it out. If everything is good resale.

he did cash payment. actually i delivered the board myself as we decided to actually meet at a location for the deal. i offered him to come to my home when we started the deal on phone call, so that i can test the board in front of him before selling. but he refused it as he live so far. and so we decided to meet at a location which is good for him as well as me to reach. one more thing he hadn't returned the board yet.
What will happen if i don't repay him as its not my fault??
Can he do any police complaint or anything?? i know i am genuine but still i don't want to get into anything mess.
