I hate my cpu!

Ok my cpu is a axp 2700+ and i overclocked it for almost 1 year at 3200 speed (11*200) ... now whenever i try to put it to regular 2700 speed (13*166) THE MOFO GO BACK TO 833MHZ !!! I mean WTF HELL...And no software is able to read the damn temp....In the bios the temp is always 54/58 C but those temp seen not right...

I am gonna put it to 2.25V 14*300 AND WATCH HIM BURN!!!!

Did you update you`r Bios ?

1-I changed hsf at xmas , i dont want to remove it .. i have no more thermal paste to put it back...

2-You may find that stupid....but i dont have a floppy...and i am too lazy to buy one...and btw the cpu USED to work at stock speed....bah i am stuck at 2600+ speed...

It's time to upgrade anyway. AMD64 is calling thee!

If you dont want to pull the hsf, unscrew the fan, and clean it out of the case. Then use a brush, or a vacuum, or bothe together to clean the hs.
I have to clean my Vantec aeroflow, once a month, to keep my overclock at 2.4 (xp-m 2500+), or I start to get errors. Maybe I need A64 too.
 
Ok its cleaned , still i cant use stock speed....i can use my old overclock (11*200) or use 2600+ speed BUT I CANT RUN AT 2700+!!!

I'd like to upgrade but $$ is away until a few month...

So, what you are saying is that the mobo wont give you the 13X multiplier? Why blame the chip? See what multis you can get. Just change the way you get there. Try 180 fsb and 12 multi. Should be about the same as stock speeds.
 
Why are you trying to get back to stock speeds? This sounds very weird, but it seems like anything close to stock speeds would be acceptable?

Hey coylter, just followed your link in the graphics forum to bungie whatever. Nice work I'll have to pay closer attention to your posts in the future.

If I glanced at a spilt box of tooth picks on the floor, could I tell you how many are in the pile. Not a chance, But then again I don't have to buy my underware at Kmart.
 
Download a program called Aida32 it will give you the correct clock speed at the desktop and display the proper temps for the CPU, power supply and main board.

It's a free program just do a Google search for it.

Yea i have aida....even aida detect the cpu as a 2700 (13*166)....bah i am back to 11*200 anyway....i cleaned the hsf..added some thermal paste...and i am good to go....still its very frustrating to know that your damn cpu cant run stock speed.
