I have £300 to spend on upgrading my build, what do you think i should purchase?

Hi, this is my current system
CPU: i5 4670k
CPU Cooler: Stock
Motherboard: Asrock Z87 Extreme
RAM: 2x4GB Patriot Viper 3
Storage: 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM
GPU: ASUS DCU2 GTX 770
PSU: Fractal Design Integra R2 750W
Case: Zalman Z11 Plus

What do you think would be the most beneficial to me, my PC is used primarily for gaming at 1080p (i hope to upgrade to 1440p in the future), I don't do any kind of video editing or workstation tasks. The first things that came to mind were an SSD and an aftermarket CPU cooler. If possible i would like the SSD to be at least 256GB. If you suggest a new motherboard please don't include a new copy of windows because i know people over at Microsoft the they can take care of migrating my key.

Thanks for the quick reply but I dont want to do that for 2 reasons, the first is that i tend to get really paranoid about PSU capacity (which you might already be able to tell by the fact that I bought a 750W PSU for my rig) and the second is that I'm really not a fan of SLI because a lot of games arent optimized for it and it generates double the heat compared to a single, stronger card

750w is MORE than enough to SLI 770s. People SLI 780tis on 750w. That is not a problem. As it is your PSU is WAY overkill for your build and you are barely using it.

Secondly, SLI is VERY well optimized in most games. I have used dual GPU builds my whole life and never had issues. It makes WAY more sense to buy a second 770 for 1440p, as opposed to buying a single as powerful card like a 780ti (technically isn't even as powerful as SLI 770s) and would cost more than 2x the amount. That would be really pointless.

I think that you should add some more system fans if you currently only have one fan, this will help tremendously with temps since you will be overclocking! 🙂

Yeah agree with tiny voices...get another gtx 770 and sli them...you'll still have some left after the gtx 770 and you could use that to either get a new CPU cooler (or do a custom liquid cooling setup) or get an ssd

Nope, that is a known BS calculator. Overestimates by about 50% to avoid lawsuits. There are basically ZERO accurate calculators for PSU. DO NOT trust any of them.

Yes that is plenty of power. Your PSU is not the highest quality, but it is definitely good.

Yes that is plenty of power. Your PSU is not the highest quality, but it is definitely good.
