[SOLVED] I have 10GB Ram installed but it uses and shows 2gb ram

Recently I was given an 8gb ram stick, it's ddr3 and the same frequency as my 2gb ram. I originally had 2 2gb ram sticks.
When I booted the bios, it showed that i had 10gb memory, and that it detected my 8gb ram stick. But when I booted win10, it felt slow and didnt show 10gb ram, it showed 2gb ram.
I tried booting with only the 8gb ram stick, and the pc wouldnt boot anything. I tried putting it in the other slot, and nothing. What do I do?

Put old 2GB ram module back.
Your 8GB module is either broken or not compatible with your system. It could be server ram.

Depends on, what is the issue with it.
If it's broken, then throw it out.
If it's server ram, then sell it.
