I have 16 gb ram installed only 7.95 usable

I have 4 sticks of 4gb ram using gskill sniper bought 2 sticks installed them today the pc says i only have 7.95 usable.

In the windows or bios? Reseat the ram properly until a click is heard.check manual or website for maximum capacity and type supported by your motherboard

my mother board max is like 32 gb and i did hear the click. Windows it shows 7.95 usable.

sadly don't have another pc to check it on. Is there any software that can detect faulty hardware?

If your board detects it you can run memtest

What CPU cooler? Also the sticks may not want to play nice, try raising the DRAM voltage + 0.06 and let us know the CPU, mobo and model of the DRAM.
