I am not an audiophile so I am not sure which connection option is the best.

I have Logitech g560 speakers.

I have a sound blaster ae 9 sound card.

I can connect the speakers either by using a 3.5mm from the sound card to 3.5mm on the speakers. Or, I can use a 2 RCA left and right channel cable from the sound card that is 3.5mm on the other end that goes to the speakers. Which one is going to give better sound or better quality DTS etc?

Or is there no difference between them?

Thank you

IMHO, you have the wrong speaker setup for that sound card. That being said, you should look into the single 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable instead of using the RCA breakaways. If you did have a higher quality speaker set, one that leveraged individual inputs for the Right and Left channel, I'd have gone with the RCA route.

Or is there no difference between them?
You could do a blind test and see if you can tell the difference, very highly likely you won't.

Thanks.

I'd have gone for something surround sound speaker wise if I had the space that allowed for it. I also don't have the desk space for some of the bookshelf style speakers I was interested in.

I had to go 2.1 and after doing some looking they seemed to have good reviews. I just wanted to get the best audio I could with what was feasible for me to use

I don't like real loud audio anyway. I prefer just having good sound vs pure volume or surround sound.
