I have 2x 8gb Ram. Do I get two more 2x8 Gb or a brand new 2x 16 Gb set? Need 32 Gb.

Hi

I currently have 2 8gb DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 Mhz Ram. I want to have 32 Gb now, so I don't know if I should buy another set of 2x 8 Gb (32 gb in total using the 4 slots) or I sell those and get 2x 16 Gb of the same brand:

https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B014UYPEXE?th=1

Is there any difference between 2x 16 or 4x 8 ? I don't think I'm gonna have 64 Gb anytime soon, so I'm not concerned about having two empty slots.

Thank you!

Well you would have stability issues with buying 2x16 and mixing it with 2x8, if you place it in like this 16gb,8gb,16gb,8gb You would be okay but you are going to loost about %10 speed on all 4 but they are still gonna add up to be more than the 2x8 + 2x8.

Hi junii

I think I failed at explaining well my question. I don't want to mix anything 'cause I already have 16 GB using 2 slots, 8 GB each. So, in order to get 32 GB i want to know what performs better: Whether having 4 x 8 gb memories (I would have to buy another couple of 8 GB, all slots used) or selling my current 2 x 8Gb memories and buying 2x 16 Gb.
