I'm using a custom 2240x1260 resolution which is the midpoint of 1080 and 1440. Still playing to find my best match but I do lean on the highest quality balanced setting with ultra textures and x16 AF

GPU usage is in the high 90's and CPU usage is acceptable too. FPS is gameplay is 40's-60's range

Difference between 2060 and 2060 Super is not that much. I would say go to 9900.

I don't get that custom resolution thing, LCD monitors have a native resolution, I don't think your monitor has a native resolution of 2240 x 1260? It is very much doable, but then the result would not be as good as native resolution.

I don’t think the GOU upgrade would be worth it. The CPU upgrade would be beneficial overall but won’t give you a huge difference I don’t think. I think your biggest improvement would be playing at a standard resolution. What’s the reasoning for using a custom? If neither your CPU or GPU are using 100% then there won’t be much improvement.

Update.

I bought a 9700 last night and will pick it up at my local Best Buy tommorow.

That will be third and likely final CPU that uses the old 1st gen V8 Cooler Master that dated back to my bro's 2600k in 2011. Depending on what the temps are, that either will stay there or it'll be replaced by a Noctua down the line despite being a locked chip
