I have 4GB RAM in my laptop,but suddenly it began to show 4GB installed(2.55GB usable)!! PLEASE HELP ME..!

I have a windows7 laptop(windows 7 ultimate/64 bit/model-Dell Inspiron 15/core i3-5005U)..I have 4096 RAM installed and I used the complete amount of RAM with no error until today..but now my laptop shows- 4GB installed,2.55GB usable..I dont know why..(recently I installed a windows update,VLC media player update and BLUESTACKS app player)..I reseated the ram,but nothing changed(there is only 1 slot for RAM in my lap)..all the games and softwares has become slow now..please help..!! Thanks in advance..

That's because the RAM doesn't only store data when you're gaming. Even when you're on your desktop, the RAM still stores the OS. That's why your RAM isn't fully usable.
