I have 8gb of ram installed but I'm using 7,9 gb of it? [Windows 8]

Hello,

I'm not an engineer, far from it. Lately I've been noticing a lot of lag spikes, which I've never experienced before on this pc. I checked if my memory was being used, and oh yes, it was.

I currently have "NOTHING" open, and I'm using in the 7-7.9 gb ram range. The weird thing is that I'm only using 400mb myself, and the rest 7gb is being used by something and I don't know what it is...

My OS is installed on a SSD Hard Disc (C: ) together with the most important programs and rest of my programs are installed my Hard Disc (E: )----

If you guys could help me it would be great!

From your pic, you have a LOT of crap running. That's where it is all going.

email, Chrome, Spotify, Origin, Steam, etc, etc, etc.
Turn all that stuff off and see what happens.

What does it look like right after a reboot, before you open anything?

Ehm, it seems like it fixed itself after the reboot. Allthough I did reboot it several times... weird. Now it stays at 20% is being used.

Are you running an ssd? The rapid mode on Samsung drives will eat up a lot of your ram.
