[SOLVED] I have a 144hz monitor: phl242g5 but the highest refresh rate possible is 120hz

I have a 144hz monitor: phl242g5 but the highest refresh rate possible is 120hz. I cant seem to find the problem. I have a 1.4 display port cable and a NVIDIA GeForce gtx 970. When I go to system information, it says that the display can only run at max 120hz. Anyone who can help me? you dont know how much ur helping me with this!

144Hz is supported with dual link DVI cable on phl242g5 monitor.
Display port connection is limited to 120Hz. HDMI connection is limited to 60Hz.

Hyee thanks for replying, much love. So I gotta buy that dual link DVI cable? And if I have the DVI cable, do I still need the display port cable for any reason?
