I have a 300 Watt power supply for a planned gaming computer. Is that going to be enough? I want Minecraft at 200 fps

I am building a gaming Pc and I was wondering what kind of power source that I need. I already have a 300 Watt power supply, but I don't think it will be enough. Feedback would be much appreciated.

Solution
Choose the components it would take to achieve your goals, in this case Minecraft at 200fps(what resolution?). Once you have that list of components, then you'll know how much power you'll need. It makes no sense to decide on the power supply first.

You can build a system that runs off a 300W power supply, but it might not run Minecraft at 200fps.
any decent Video card will draw probably 200 Watts.. so having only 300 would not be enough if you plan to add a Video card :) I would get a500 to 600 watt power supply (maybe more depending on your Video card and CPU and if you plan to have a lot of other stuff in the system. More would be needed if you wanted to run dual video cards and so on.

It really does depend on the video card.

Then again, I also wouldn't use a game to be run at a speed faster than the human eye can distinguish as the threshold.

What games do you want to run, and at what resolution? That'll help determine what CPU and GPU would be suitable.

Let me build you one. I am assuming that you need the bare minimums.

Mini ITX AM4 MOBO $100-130
Ryzen 3 1200/1300x $110-$130
8GB DDR4 - $70-$100
GTX 1050ti $170/ or GTX 1060 $250
Masterbox 3.1. -$40

This will easily play minecrafts at 200+ under 250w.

Please specify specific parts, what resolution, if you are playing with heavy duty mods, that sort.

Many factors apply here. But I honestly doubt with 300w you can hit 200fps except on very low quality, and also your monitor probably doesn't even support that, unless it's a high speed gaming monitor. I have a 550w PSU though I only use around 350w at full load, I use a gtx 750ti and Ryzen 1300x which are both not very power consuming, but I can't even hit a steady 200fps on high quality at 720p. I can hit steady 120fps at that quality however, even possibly 150fps steady. I would consider a new power supply and a high end graphics card if you want that, namely around 500-600w and a gtx 1060 or better.
