I have a 4790k, need to downgrade ...

I have a Mid-Tower atx system with the 4790k chip. I want to build a mITX system but the old motherboards are super expensive and no wifi. Any suggestions on a newer Chip+motherboard that will give me ultra settings , 144hz gaming on 1080p?? needs to be all compacted on a small factor that fits a 1070. I play mostly Diablo 3, overwatch and destiny. Dont care bout tomraider, assasins creed or any other one person games . Mostly play multiplayer shooters. Also video editing and twitch not my style. Just pure multiplayer gaming

What case you looking at? Also why the sudden switch to something small? There are still plenty of Z87 boards sold on ebay that are micro atx which allows you to build a nice and compact system not too much bigger than most average mitx systems unless you are getting a really special itx case of course.

If you buy any newer CPU you will have to swap to DDR4 memory as well, what is your budget?


If you need to downgrade your case size look at the Raijintek Thetis as it's probably one of the smallest ATX cases out there and it's a good quality unit.

any of the thin mini atx with usb 3.0 at eat least , dont care bout RGB. And no ebay ..I need to use amazon since have about about 100+ dlls on amazon points lol ...any other site will not give me that discount lol ...

have the gpu , have windows 10 , and ssd's ..about 700 dlls ..hoping less ..just motherboard chip , case and ram. Cooler don't need since I may get one for free from my brother. I love the 4970k but ..its to old ...and runs hot ..

I need small factor cause new desk is about 3.5 ft wide and 2.5 dept and my monitor is 27 inches lol ...And no cant put the thing on the floor. want it next to monitor. and that also why no RGB ...less lights the better.

love everything except the ryzen 7 ...I think is to much extra core power ...for what I play ..maybe Destiny ?? dont like the recent battle royale style gaming LOL . And I don't think my devotion to Overwatch/diablo3/Destiny will go away soon LOL ..you think the 5 2600X will do ??

The 2600X is fine as well. Initially I was looking at the 9600K however it doesn't appear to be in stock at Amazon, that paired with a Z390 board/16gb DDR4 & a good air CPU cooler would give you excellent gaming performance.
