I have a ASUS PRIME A320M-K Mobo and a Ryzen 7 1800x that is coming in today most likely. Gonna replace it with my old Ryzen 3 2200G. My bios version is 9005. Is there anything that I need to do before replacing the chip, or do I just shut down my pc and put the new one in and boot it and all will be fine? Also, do I need to do anything after I have installed the 1800x? Please help need response asap.

Thanks.

Solution
If they use the same BIOS....you can generally power down and swap CPUs.
If on CPU uses an older BIOS....that CPU can generally run on a new BIOS.....but it doesn't work the other way around.
Bios 9005 does not exist.
Your 2200G needs Bios 3203 and the 1800x needs an older bios 0217.
So, you are good to go, as if you PC works with the 2200G, it will work with 1800x

After switching CPU, just do a clear CMOS
