Hi,

I recently bought some components and give it to someone I trust so he can build a desktop pc with them (I'm very bad at building computers). The problem is that after 20-25mins I turned on the pc, the screen freezes and turns blue (with vertical strips). I don't know what is the problem and I can assure you the one who build it is competent.

Spec
Cpu: i7-4790
Gpu: xfx r9 280x double D
Psu: thermatake smart series 750w bronze plus
Ssd: Kingston 240Gb
Motherboard: Asus B85M-E/CSM with 1x8Gb of ram installed
Operating system: Windows 7 professional 64bits

Solution
The XFX AMD Radeon R9 280X Double Dissipation Edition graphics card would be the first suspect.

Remove the graphics card and use the CPU's integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 for troubleshooting purposes.

If it works fine with the integrated graphics then the problem lies with the discrete graphics card.

Solution
I tested the computer without the r9 280x and it works fine. However, I plan to test the graphic card with another psu in a few days to make sure the problem dosen't come from the psu. What intrigues me is the fact that every things is fine during the first 20-30mins after I turn the pc on. Thanks for your answer!
