Hello,

I'm having a problem with my home entertainment system.

Both speakers are making this awful, loud buzzing sound. It's constantly there when it's turned on. It does not matter which input I select.
I'm not in possession of the original power cord. I'm using a C7 non-polarized power cord. The cable is able to provide the system with the voltage it requires. I've tried numerous other C7-type power cords. It isn't broken. However, the jack on the back of the subwoofer is meant to have a polarized C7-type power cord connected to it.

This the system I have: https://www.bose.com/en_us/support/...speaker_home_theater_support/321_series1.html

I hope someone is able to help me out.

My thoughts: I think there are two sides to the problem described.

Wall outlet side:

Subwoofer side:

The sound system was designed to expect +voltages, - voltages, and grounds (earthings) at specific connection points.

Capacitors for example allow electron flow in only one direction.

You are reversing those voltages, currents are flowing in the wrong directions or perhaps where they should not be flowing at all.

Not knowing your overall system , the following link may provide a good starting point to investigate further:
