Not sure if this is in the wrong topic or not. I have a computer, pretty sh*t. I have an Intel Xeon E5345 for my CPU, which only has a small 2.33GHz. As my Video Card I have an AMD Radeon HD 5450. And 8GBs of ram. I'm trying to improve my FPS on games such as DayZ. Any help will be appreciated on what I could replace to improve FPS and overall performance, thanks.

Solution
DayZ and similar open-map games are quite CPU intensive because of the rendering of the entire map. GPU is after CPU in these types of games usually, unlike other games such as most first person shooters. I would recommend getting a newer (Still not new, but newer... The socket-771-was released in '06.) socket 771 Xeon or a Core 2 Extreme (Although these cost a fortune, but you may be able to find one for cheap used). If you don't feel comfortable doing this, I would recommend picking up an AMD 970 chipset board (These are the cheaper chipsets) and an FX 6300 or 8320/50. AMD really prevails in multi-core work loads, and while it has 5% less single core performance than Intel, it has 5% more multi-core performance.

When/if you get the...
An HD 5450 is not a gaming card and your CPU is very weak, but if you can't build a new system (that would be the best solution), then try to find a used GPU like a GTX 750 or a GTX 750 Ti. What PSU do you have? I presume that it's weak since you use a low power (19W) GPU.

Im not sure, where should I check that?

When/if you get the dough to upgrade your graphics (Do this only after you have upgraded your CPU), I would highly recommend these following cards:

Budget card - EVGA SC 750ti - One hell of a card for the money and will do what you need for games such as DayZ and Rust.

Sweetspot card - Sapphire Nitro OC r9 380 - I personally have this card, and for a $200-ish investment, it beats any game I throw at it at 1080p.

Whatever, take my money. - EVGA SSC GTX 970 - Great card for 1080p and 1440p gaming. With games like Rust, DayZ, Arma, and Battlefield, this card gives the performance you need without making an unreasonable gap of headroom.

Hope I helped!
