I have a computer with a dsl port and no ethernet port

Solution
If those are both ends of the same cable (it appears to be a usb cable), one end would connect to the modem the other skinny usb connector could attach to your pc and you should be able to get signal that way. You might have dropped signals and would need to be close to your modem (cable length limits).

The one pic of the back of your pc was dark, hard to see exactly what ports you had. Most pc's have an ethernet port built into the motherboard. If yours doesn't they make pci add on cards. It fits into a pci slot on the motherboard similar to a graphics card.

Something similar to this.

That would allow you to connect to your modem using a cat5 cable and the ethernet ports.
Not sure what you're referring to exactly. Can you post a pic of it? Dsl (digital subcriber line) is a method of accessing high speed internet over standard phone lines. To do this you need a dsl modem which takes the signal from the phone line (rj11 connector) and also has an rj45 (ethernet) port to send the signal to the pc. The pc also has an ethernet port and that's where the ethernet cable (cat5, cat5e, cat6 etc) plugs between the pc and modem. There's no such thing as a 'dsl port', if that's what you're calling the ethernet port then it answers the question about your pc having an ethernet port.

How do i post pics? i have them just dont know how to post

Oh ok, that appears to be a phone jack with an auxillary rj11 (standard phone) jack labeled 'dsl'. A regular phone wire plugs from that to your dsl modem. The dsl modem then has an rj45 (ethernet) port and you connect a cat5 ethernet cable from the dsl modem to your pc's port.

Here's a pic of the back of a standard/basic dsl modem.

The port on the left with the white square around it plugs to the small phone jack box in your hand in the pic you linked. The port on the right with the yellow square around it matches the network plug on your pc. Use a cat5/ethernet cable to connect those two together. You can't connect directly from the pc to the wall, you need a modem. It may be different depending on your location but usually the isp (internet provider like comcast or at&t etc) provides you with a modem. If not then you have to purchase one and contact your isp to find out if there are any specific settings needed to connect to their network.

Okay so here's my dilemma... my computer has no ethernet port. i have these two things but im not sure if it will work. What do you think?
