No I dont think it'll fit. And theyre not compatible with each other. But some mobos have DDR2 and DDR3 slots. But you can only use one or the other not both

C2D and C2Q processors can operate both in DDR2 and DDR3 mobo as long as the mobo has LGA775 socket and the BIOS support it.
The RAM, however, can only work on their own platform, DDR2 RAM only compatible with DDR2 mobo and DDR3 RAM only with DDR3 mobo.
There were several LGA775 mobos with both DDR2 and DDR3 but I dunno if they still exist.
