I have a few old routers. I was thinking of tossing them out. I am concerned about personal information. Does the unit retain

i have some old routers. I am concerned about the units retaining personal information if I was to throw the units away. Should I?

Power each one up and do a factory reset on them. If you have DSL then your login could be retained. Your WIFI info could still be there. A factory reset will wipe out all of that stuff.

But, if they are WIFI N routers, you could use them as access points. Or give them away to friends to use as access points. All after the above factory reset.
