I have a few questions about moving my old hdd over to a new system.

I want to move my old hard drive from an Intel system over to a new AMD system. I don't have the boot disk for windows XP. If I have to wipe the hard drive and install a fresh version of windows on it. Could I make a cd or usb with windows on it, boot it on a wiped drive, and use my old product key?
And is the download and CD from Microsofts website a bootable version?

If your Intel system is working, I don't recommend it. I would try searching for another hardrive on craigslist, where you can also get windows coa's for less.
