I have a Gateway Laptop and it does not have a disk drive.

When I insert a DVD or CD my files app shows that the disk is present but will not play. Any suggestions for what app I can download to watch DVDs or listen to CDs?

Try this: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html If you have W10, there's an APP for it too.
