[SOLVED] I have a gigabyte ab350m.

I have a gigabyte ab350m motherboard with a ryzen 5 1600. Recently on iracing I’ve seen my processor can’t keep up. I also have a gaming 1070 and run vr. My question is if I want to upgrade to a ryzen 7 3700x will my motherboard support it or will I have to switch motherboards as well?

for a better result, you do need to change your motherboard to the latest chipset (B450 Minimum, X470/X570 to be safe)

Starting from most of B450 and X470 Chipset, they're Ryzen 3000 Compatible, unless you bought the one that is a Ryzen 2000 ready Motherboard with B450/X470 chipset, you would only need to flash the latest bios, depends on what motherboard you're on. Using 3000 series on A320 or B350 would work through flashing new bios, again depends on the manufacturer, but not recommended.
